Access
The main access is from a paved car park on
Aldlett Drive although there are additional footpath entrances on
Aldlett drive and the part of Radley Road that runs from Aldlett Drive
to Radley.
Connectivity
From the area there a
footpaths leading to Radley, Wick Hall and Thrupp Lane including the
Radley Lakes. Car parking is difficult at Radley Lakes so Barrow
Hills car park is a useful alternative.

The area
This is now a rather modest area
but it once formed part of an extensive area with a long history.
The area had a Neolithic barrow, several bronze-age barrows, a roman
cemetery and an Anglo-Saxon village. The whole area was excavated
in the 1970s and details
can be found here. Sadly, There is nothing of this history to
see now.
From the car park, you enter a
large open area surrounded by trees. There was once a football field in
this are but only one goal post remains. Off to one side of this
area is a BMX track.
There are pleasant wooded walks
which run along side Aldlett Drive and Radley Road. From the
behind the remaining goal post, there is a style leading in to an
extensive woods which is criss-crossed with paths. Unfortunately,
the style is a rather strange design having nowhere to hold onto as you
clamber over it. It is therefore not recommended for use by the
elderly or slightly disabled people
