The Park

This is a rectangular field of about 240km by 80km in size.  It was created from a landfill site and you can still see some of the vents to let the gas out.  It is mainly and open area but there are a few mature trees at the eastern end.

The main part of the park is a large open area suitable for ball games.  This once hosted a football club but the ground is now uneven due to settlement.  There are several pieces of of adult exercise equipment along the north and south edge of this area.

Abingdon Carbon Cutters have planted a variety of fruit trees along the northern edge of the park.

There is a large and colourful children's playground at the western end of the park.

The football clubhouse remains but is securely shut.  It has a large football mural on one wall which is still in a reasonable state.
