The Dementia Friendly Abingdon Steering Group is arranging and exciting series of events to celebrate Dementia Action Week.

Monday 20 May

10 am - 4 pm, Information Day in the Roysse Room, Bridge Street.

Talk to representatives from

  • Fiddle Fingers Quilts,

Tuesday 21 May 10:30am and 12 noon

Dementia Friends Information Sessions, 35 Ock Street.  Short, fun, interactive sessions to learn how to help people live well with dementia.

Wednesday 22 May 11 am

Abbey Cinema dementia friendly showing of The Wizard of Oz.  Doors open 10 am for 11 am showing.

Thursday 23 May

10:30am.  Meet in the Market Place for a dementia friendly walk around Abbey Park

2 pm.  Library event, Human Story Theatre perform Connie's Colander, followed by Q&A with a dementia specialist

Friday 24 May 10.30am - 2.00pm

Awareness Day in the Market Place (or St Nicolas Church if wet)  Information stands and Music Singing for the Brain sessions at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm
